City of Sassari is situated in North-Western of Sardinia.It's chief town of the homonymous province with about 130.000 dwellers.The nearest beaches are Platamona, a big expanse of white sand, reachable in 15 minutes by car,and Argentiera, a cliff location of particular beauty from the wide variety of landscape; but all its coast is reach of beaches and wild nature landscape. From the house, you'll can quietly visit on foot, the imporant monument of the city like the massive Cathredal of San Nicola (builded between XII and XVII centuries in various architectural styles: Romanical,Gothical,Renaissance and Baroque), the Brigata Sassari museum, the remains of Aragonese Castle (also know like "Barbacane"). And again,Piazza d'Italia with its ancient buildings, the G.A. Sanna Museum, one of the most important museum in Sardegna. Just out of town, we recommend a visit to the prehistoric altar "Monte d'Accoddi", a monument from the unique building in all mediterranean area renamed "Ziqqurat of mediterranean". Nuragic villages, Domus de Janas and dolmen enrich the hinterland landscape.
